About this Project
This is a rather unique pack among all the Minecraft shaderpacks using voxels and path-/ray-tracing, since it has a strong focus on a rather soft and aesthetically pleasing lighting, as well as competitive performance. In order to achieve these things it completely ditches the traditional shadowmap for dynamic shadows and instead it fully relies on a solution that is a mix of a light-propagation-volume (or short LPV) and path-tracing. This produces fairly fast and performant lighting, which is a perfect fit for the overall visual goal of a softly lit world. This is accompanied by a unique skybox as well, which produces more of an overcast and cloudy look than other packs usually do, which also sets it apart from other shaderpacks with a more realistic goal.
Soft Voxels is available for Tier 2 Patrons (5€) with the lite edition being available on curseforge.
It’s once again time for some updates, especially regarding the upcoming update for Kappa Shader.
I have made a few more interesting additions this time, namely local exposure and rough reflections.
It’s time to go through some new stuff again and as usual there are some especially interesting things, most notably further progress on Kappa Shader v5.0 as well as an improved auto-exposure solution.
There have been some noteworthy and long awaited additions this time as I’ve added volumetric fog and proper reflections.
A small showcase video I made using Soft Voxels
It’s once again time for another update blog, and as always there’s some pretty interesting stuff, especially for those of you who want to get the best visuals to performance ratio.
Soft Voxels has recieved numerous updates since the last post, adding up to three subversions since then, which means we are now at P2c.
After the fairly successful launch of Soft Voxels (despite the various quirks caused by the temporal upscaler), I’ve reworked various aspects of the pack.
There have been some interesting updates again in the past month and even a new project that finally made its way out into the open. So stay tuned for a rather expansive overview this time, as well as some insight into future plans.
It’s time for a new project again, and it is once again a pretty unique one too.
