Hi folks,
I’ve made some more progress with Distant Horizons support on NostalgiaVX and FastPBR again, and this time with working reflections.
As you might know from my previous blogpost, screenspace reflections turned out to be a bit of a hurdle when it came to getting them to work with distant horizons, but I finally figured that out now and as you can imagine it does give vistas with large amounts of water or oceans a nice improvement.
In addition to that I’ve also improved the lighting on the LODs in NostalgiaVX, so they fit in with the regular terrain in a nicer and more seamless fashion, although there are still a few hiccups here and there that I have to work out (eg. cloud interaction with the LODs, which will be fixed in the next version), but aside from that it’s coming along nicely so far and without any major issues.
If all goes well I should be able to move onto KappaPT and then Soft Voxels soon.
Also, a preview of FastPBR with Distant Horizons support is now available in the testing channel on my discord server, so make sure to give that a go if you’re interested.
There isn’t all that much to say otherwise this time, given that the steady improvements when it comes to DH support speak for themselves, so all that’s left to say is a huge thanks to my supporters over on Patreon as always :)
I hope you’ll like those updates as usual and stay tuned for more.
