Hey folks,
After being completely caught up in life things last month, it’s finally time to give you a bit of a status update again.
A slightly more candid insight than usual
As you might have noticed I’ve kept making plans and a bit of a schedule for upcoming updates in the past few months, just for those plans to be completely steamrolled by the sheer amount of shifts in my personal life. Many of those changes and almost seismic shifts in my personal life are fundamentally good things, so I’m not really complaining about them happening but it’s still quite a lot to handle and just keeps throwing wrenches in whatever plans I make for just about anything, be it shaderpack updates or personal hobby projects and while I am generally happy with all the good things happening in my life as of late, I’m also struggling with finding the time and energy to work on my projects in a more regular and organised fashion again like I usually want to. This becomes a bit frustrating with my almost endless list of ideas and new things I want to work on, and every time I feel like things are starting to settle a bit something new comes about and takes my attention away again.
This is also why I haven’t even managed to make a blogpost for last month, because just as I thought I had the time for that, the rollercoaster that my life sometimes is decided to get going again (I’m not complaining but it just makes it really difficult to get things done sometimes). That also made me realise that it’ll probably make more sense to switch between a monthly and bi-monthly schedule for my blogposts depending on how things are going, at least for a while until things start to become a bit more predictable again.
I do hope that things will actually start to settle down a bit in the next few weeks, at least it feels that way but y’know… I’ve been there before so I am very cautious about making any expectations in that regard.

Plans… kind of
At this point I am very hesitant when it comes to giving any ETA’s on future updates, because so far every plan or schedule I made in the last few months has just been turned upside down and inside out. I do still have a fairly well organised list of things I want to work on nonetheless, even if the actual schedule is all wibbly-wobbly and unpredictable for now.
The Potato Shader update I’ve mentioned in the last blogpost is still at the top of my To-Do list, as is the slight touchup of Simplicissimus Shader. My planned revisiting of my LPV-based lighting solutions will take a backseat in the meantime in favour of prioritizing Distant Horizons support for KappaPT (that one really is long overdue and I thought I’d have it done months ago).
As for everything else, most other things will be on the backburner for a while so that I can focus my energy (when circumstances allow me to) on a few major pieces of work rather than doing my usual, more spread out approach of hopping between projects. This will be a slightly irritating cutback for me, as I really like to work on as many ideas as possible at the same time for the sake of that being super rewarding, but that approach is pretty unreasonable for now as you can imagine.

Closing words
Even if things are quite chaotic for now, I still want to thank all of you for sticking with me through this, especially my supporters on Patreon because seeing people enjoy my work most definitely makes it more worthwhile, so I really want to bring you some more exciting updates soon but as you can guess I have absolutely no clue how all of that will work out and at what pace until things actually calm down for once.
So yeah, in summary: Sometimes life just really hits you with everything at once, be it good or bad and then you’re left with figuring out how all of that is supposed to work at once without being a draining mess, which can be quite a challenge but a doable one I’d say.
That’s it for this time and I hope that I’ll be able to return to a more regular schedule soon.
