Supporter Updates 2026-02

Hey folks,

I’ve neglected doing these changelogs for too long, so here’s everything that’s been changed since I last did one of these, and it’s actually quite a lot, so enjoy :)

KappaPT v18.11

  • improved/fixed minimum ambient light
  • added depth write POM
  • fixed lightning bolt rendering on recent Iris
  • fixed alpha mask issues in 1.21.11+ (hopefully)
  • potential minor performance improvements
  • added proper night vision
  • fixed mismatched direct lighting in reflected terrain
  • fixed lighting issues with impossible surface normals with some resourcepacks

Changes since v18.5:

  • improved accumulation behaviour
    • reduced minimum accumulation weight for more stable results over time
  • improved block breaking overlays
  • fixed volumetric fog being rendered with incorrect density behaviour
  • added mappings for 1.21.6-1.21.8 foliage
  • adjusted default TAA parameters for improved sharpness
    • may increase aliasing in motion
  • WIP Distant Horizons support for the overworld
    • other dimensions will follow as usual
    • DH terrain has noise applied for subtle colour variation
    • Also features dithered fading
  • improved temporal stability of water reflections
    • especially at grazing angles and far distances
  • added support for copper lanterns and torches
  • improved rendering of volumetric fog over long (render-)distances
  • improved TAA on Distant Horizons LODs

NostalgiaVX v11.13

  • added normals based temporal reflection rejection (WIP)
  • improved/fixed minimum ambient light
  • added depth write POM
  • fixed lightning bolt rendering
  • fixed alpha mask issues in 1.21.11+ (hopefully)
  • potential minor performance improvements
